La Guelaguetza is a Mexican Restaurant that serves traditional food from the estate of Oaxaca, everything is made by real cooks from Oaxaca and they’ve been in Rosarito for 10 years.

They serve different dishes every day and on Sundays, they have a buffet, which offers 14 dishes, desserts, Natural Fruit Beverages, and Mexican Café, all for $195 Pesos. So, if you are looking for authentic traditional Mexican food this is the place to go.

They are located behind Waldo’s, on the opposite corner of Mariscos “Los Cabos” in Manuel Ávila Camacho street. They open every day, from 7 AM to 7 PM, they have private parking spaces and the restaurant is designed to look like an old traditional kitchen from Oaxaca.

Like many people, they came in hopes of crossing the border and start a new life in the US, but they discovered the lifestyle of Rosarito and all of the potential it has, they witnessed this was a good place for starting a business thanks to the tourists that come here.

They are about to host their first major event this May 10th, 11th, and 12th, and it’s their own version of the tradition that gives the restaurant its name, “La Guelaguetza” a traditional party that involves a lot of food, music, and dances from Oaxaca, they are planning this in order to celebrate their 10th anniversary and also to celebrate the Mexican mother’s day, they will even give presents to all the mothers that attend the event. So don’t miss it!

If they could choose one dish to be their specialty it would be their “Mole Oaxaqueño” a traditional sauce that contains chili pepper, nut, and such spices as black pepper, cinnamon, cumin, and chocolate. It is one of the most complex and delicious dishes that the Mexican cuisine can offer, so if you want to experience true Mexican flavors don’t miss this one!
